MOST HELPFUL POSTS

I went through the same thing with my daughter at the same age. We took her to her pediatrician and who referred us to an endocrinologist. She had a condition that could have stunted her bone growth and was monitored over time. She grew to a normal height of 5'6" and no special measures other than a regular blood tests and bone density tests were needed. She started menstruation at age 11 1/2 or 12. I highly recommend that you mention it to her doctor. Most cases are just early puberty and nothing to worry about. That period of time between 9 and 13 was very emotionally charged for her, but we avoided a lot of the ups and downs that most teenagers go through from 13 to 17.
