Electronic cigarette?

Has anyone tried these?
I'm thinking about trying them--I know I SHOULD quit smoking and it's bad for me and the environment (yada yada), but I ENJOY smoking. This might be the lesser of two evils lol

STOP - All this talk about no-smoke ciggarettes is really making me want one!!! I wonder if they have them in Australia?? I stopped cold turkey, I didn't have a choice I was 8 weeks pregnant (had my last ciggie on the way back from the dating scan!). So its been 2 years and 3 months and I still want one all the time, but sometimes now I go a day without thinking about it.

You can get them with or without nicotine. I've been thinking about buying them too. I need the nicotine still, but I don't want to keep filling my lungs with all the other horrid crap.

It's pretty awesome. It just has a vapor that comes out. They are just like the real ones and in the long run make you smoke less and spend less. I would highly recommend.

Edit to add: you don't stink

I saw a sign on the 7-11 that said smokeless cigarette $19.99. I was curious but didn't think anymore of it. I'm going to have to do my research because the worst part of smoking for me is the smell on my clothes and fingers but I LOVE TO SMOKE!

Lol Joy, I ♥ nicotine, that's why I think they'd be good for me; I can have my nicotine, and my physical habit of actually smoking, but cut down on all the other crap, like arsenic. This brand of e-cigarette offer 5 different levels of nicotine, from a full dose of nicotine, to no nicotine at all (just flavor) so when I DO decide to stop smoking completely, it offers an easy way to gradually cut down (so no emotional roller coaster for me! yay lol) even tho I already smoke lights :P
I think in the new year I might splurge and buy some--If Jenn's review is good of course ;)

My mom likes them. Her voice doesn't sound near as bad and she doesn't smell any more. She doesn't cough as much and she can use them in restaurants most of the time. Worth a shot.

I've tried a friend's...it's pretty freakin cool actually. I was shocked. The problem for me would be that it wouldn't be breaking any of the habits...just getting rid of many of the chemicals. Still get the nicotine, still keep the oral fixation going, still an addict :(

Steve did some research on those things because he really wanted one. What he discovered is that they still dose the smoker with nicotine, they just don't produce harmful smoke for other people to breathe in. So, in essence, if you're trying to stop smoking (and I mean stop the addiction to nicotine) then I wouldn't use them. That's why we never got them. It would just mean still being addicted, only instead of buying cigarettes at the gas station we'd be ordering cartridges every week or however often (not sure how long they last).
First time I saw one was last Christmas at the mall. This guy was selling them, sitting at one of those kiosks in the center of the mall smoking and I was like "Steve! Look at him having a cigarette right here in the middle of the mall!" LOL It was in the spirit of "HEY, not fair!!! I want one too!" lol Anywho, that's my two cents on the electronic cigarette :)

Let me know if they work to! Derek wants to quit, but is like you Joce, loves his smokes, lol.

My friend swears by them - so much that he started selling them in his store.

I'm waiting for mine to come in the mail - he's sending me a test kit....I'll let you know...
