Emotional Mess

Well, to make this story short and to the point: I'm a white woman who fell for a black man, got pregnant and played. He is not in the picture. But my exboyfriend, who is also white, is willing to step up. How do you deal with the stares of two white parents and a biracial baby? My baby isn't even born yet and his family already thinks less of me. But who cares? It's still a baby! Biologically his or not, this baby will still be loved and have two parents. Maybe I'm just an emotional pregnant mess, but I'm so sensitive about it. People are so rude and hurtful.

Stop worrying about what others think of you. It isn't f the haters, it is be the bigger person. Sounds to me like the both of you still have a lot of growing up to do, and a baby added to the mix will surely do that.

Please do not make the mistake of putting your boyfriend on the birth certificate. It will make matters a lot more challenging. Especially if your kids bio father wants rights, or you want child support. It will be clear your boyfriend is not the father, so don't confuse the child.

Oh, and your boyfriend is not a father yet, and he won't be until he marries you. It doesn't sound like you have been together long, so who even knows where that relationship will go anyway?

I am not really sure even how to respond to this. Regardless of race, you will love this baby. Who cares what other people say? It is non of their damned business. People are rude and hurtful about many things. This is the least of it. We are in the day and age where race doesn't really matter any more, unless you make it an issue, it won't be one. Those that do make it an issue, you can show them the door.
