Hello everyone
I had opted for an epidural during my delivery . But later after taking it for few hrs ,there was some complication with baby and hence dr decided to do a c section . Now my baby is around 9 months and i still have pain in one point on my back ,i think . .exactly Where that epidural was given . I just went for a massage and asked the lady to give a back massage and though she was doing it lightly at that one point somewhere in middle of my back it hurted like hell . this did happen initially i mean just after my delivery . I thought it would go away with time but now i m freaking out . What could be the cause of it ? Is there anything to worry . What should i do . . . ? Please advice . .

I have the same thing. and i went for an mri and they said that they didn't see anything. but i still get really sore.
i have to take tramadol every day (non-narcotic... which is why i chose that) and even then still hurt if I've been very active that day. :/

I've got sciatica in my left leg due to a slipped disk after an epidural & c section;now I'm not saying I couldn't have unknowingly had a slipped disk prior but I believe tht becuz I was in full labor for 17 hours it aggravated the problem.however I've had bad posture my whole life & may be just paying for it now;anyway if u do still have pain u should go for MRI.it's the only way to see muscle or nerve damage;x-ray doesn't do much

I had two, and had heard absolutely horrible stories about the migraines, but didn't experience that myself. Actually, my epidural sites never bothered me either.

My problems stemmed from my second child being "technically" too large for my bone structure. I've got a partially crushed sciatic nerve due to that, but never had any epidural issues (for which I am thankful!)

However, if you've been given exercises, I will side with Cecilia in saying to make sure you follow through. You will feel pain initially, but it should get better as the muscles get stronger.

I did have epidurals, actually 3 of them. Afterwards, I had horrible migraines. I was told there is no evidence that there is a link between the two. Although many women seem to have the problem.

I do have back problems but I had since I was a teen and never saw a huge change in it after child birth. My back problem is genetic.

I'm sure the exercises they gave you would be the same ones that PT would give for you. Even if it hurts to do them, you have to do them, trust me it will get better.

I would personally see my primary doctor about it. Explain your concerns with them. They might say too simply go to PT. That might fix the problem it might not.

Sometimes people think it's the epidural that did the damage when it is sometimes the weight of the baby and bad posture that caused back problems. I am not saying it couldn't be the epidural, I'm just saying that isn't the only possibility. Either way speak to your doctor to find a solution.
