My daughter had her first seizure aged 4 in April 2013. Although to date we still don't have her seizure under control but it is now limited to every 3rd day when she falls asleep. She has been through almost every medicine available. Started off with Epilim and Topamax. This combo worked for a little while but then got out of control. (+- 30 seizures a day). We then discontinued the Topamax and introduced Trileptal she had a skin reaction and wetried Epanutin, she ended up in hospital with a very bad skin reaction. The Epanutin was discontinued and we tried keppra with the Epilim. This worked but still only at night she had seizures. A few weeks after Rivitrol was added at night but after a week the seizures just got worse. She ended up ICU as she had almost 70 seizures in a space of 24hrs all lasting +- 7 to 15 seconds (very intense moaning and jerking movements of her limbs) Tegritol ws introduced slowly and the Keppra and Rivitrol was removed slowly. She is now on Epilim, Tegritol and most recently Ospolot which we have import as the medication is not registered in our country. Having said all of the above, her Pediatric neurologist is one of the best and we pray and believe we will get it under control we just have to be patient. Please any advice be it foods to stay away from or any other tips very welcome. Thank you.
