Ex husbands wife talking bad about me

My kids step mother is talking bad about me to them and it is really starting to make me mad. I have stuck up for her to my oldest daughter and it doesn't matter. No matter what I do I am always the bad one. She talks to my 17 year old daughter like they are classmates instead of like a parent. I don't know what to do anymore. Any suggestions?

You need to stop talking to the step mom and talk to dad. You need to address the issue. In most of not all visitation/custody cases its stated that the kids are not to hear any bad or negative stuff about either parent from anyone. That said, he needs to be made to understand that she needs to stop or you will do something about it and take to the judge. She has no right to do that to you.

I don't know how old all the kids are, but where I live, a judge wouldn't even bother with a case including a 17 year old, so that is possibly one you are just going to have to deal with.To be honest, I would actually just dismiss the issue with something along the lines of "well, it's a pity she talks badly about me like that to you, that's not really very fair to you" and then move on. I know, I'm always the bad one too. My son's own father badmouths the crap out of me. But I just don't rise to the bait. It's not worth it. Believe me, the kids will figure it out.

I don't talk to her at all. I try talking to my ex but he never answers my calls. Unfortunately he is very immature. His wife is 10-12 years younger than him but that is no reason for her to act the way she does.
Thank you for your response. I guess it is time to send them a letter explaining that this will no longer be tolerated since he won't answer my calls.
Thanks again and God bless!
