Failed collage, Home , depressed.

My 18 year old is home after a dismal first year of collage. At 17 he left on a full baseball schorlership, was quite far away from home, and other then some baseball awards a dismal year. He is off the team and had looked into an jr collage that he really wanted and seemed like he might have a plan for fall. Due to his difficult year and history of depression I wanted him to come home. He went to go play summer ball. He was sent home last week due his billet family finding he was over using DMX( cough syrup). I am glad he is home, although sad as to how it happened. He went to see the counselor I asked him to and the DR apointment. He won't take the antidepressants. He says he is smoking pot now at home but no DMX. My family wants me to take him to emergency to get an assessment. I want to give the kid a week or so to chill and not have so much pressure. He has no idea if he still loves baseball or wants to go to collage.

Sad, confused, and lost.

Any tips ?
