Hi there! My name is Krystle. I am a mother of two! Son, 4 and daughter, 4 months. My sons name is Easton (aka E). He is in his second week of junior kindergarten, and we have already had a note sent home and he is not listening the 'first time' he is spoken too, having difficulties with routines. When I arrived at school yesterday, in front of two other parents, the tea her said

Well there is always ODD = oppositional defiant disorder, but there would be other sever disciplinary issues accompanying that. Good luck, let us know how it turns out

The thing is. He hears you, just chooses not to listen. I have tested this to see how well he is listening! Very frustrating

He might have a developmental disability. I know that sounds scarey but ADD and ADHD kids have trouble hearing people the first time they are spoken too as well as high function Austism spectrum kids. You could talk to the teacher and see if she has noticed anything else or ask the pediatrician to evaluate him. I have a son with HF Autism and once he got a little help he did just fine. keep the faith.
