Fall Family Picture Question/Suggestions?

My husband and I havde decided to take family pictures. The first time we did family picutres my oldest son was approx 18 months. We did an in studio portrait place. Though the pictures turned out great, I know they could have been amazing. Since then we have added to the family. Our family includes Mommy, Daddy, Elijah (3), and Josh (10 months). We wanted to wait till Josh stood up but not walking.

This time around we are doing the pictures at a local park. The park had multiple places to take pictures, i.e. old style cement table/benches, waterfall, overlook, pond, large rocks, bridges. I know that would be the perfect place to do the picture.

I was just wondering if anyone had a unique photo session and wanted to share some of the pics with me. Or if you had any suggestions for saome unique picture poses.

My sister had a photo shoot with her boys when they were preschoolers, and yes, the best pictures are just of them horsing around and having fun. The key is to talk to the photographer and look at their portfolio. If you see something you like, then mention it. That will give the photographer a general idea of the feel you want for the photos. I wouldn't get too staged or wacky with the poses -- they sometimes make a picture look dated. Some nice classic ones of you guys sitting down with the kids, and a bunch of great candid shots of you guys playing and laughing, and i'm sure you'll find plenty that you love.

I wouldn't pose. The best pics I have from a professional are of my family sitting together and laughing...un-posed moment!
