I am pregnant with my third baby. My first was c section. Second was VBAC and labor was only 6 hours long with second and it takes over an hour to get to my hospital. My main question is....what are your experiences with faster deliveries subsequent times? And a silly question. If the baby comes really fast this time, will I still have to pay a doctor for delivery if no one was there but my husband? I'm actually starting too look up what to do if I start to have it in the car. lol.

I delivered my second baby 4 minutes after walking into the hospital. Yes I wrote that right: 4 minutes. For hours after wards the midwife kept shaking her head at me and saying 'the second one is always in a rush!'. I would go with the theory that as this will be your second natural delivery you can expect it to happen fairly quickly. And it is always good to be prepared (e.g. what to do if you have it in the car) my theory is that the more prepared you are for the emergencies, the less likely you are to have one :o)

Congratulations!

Mine were all very similar.

#1 water broke, born in 4 hours on due date

#2 water broke 1 week early born in 2.5 hours

#3 water didn't break..contractions were light and 3 min apart...i thought I would tidy up the kitchen before I left! Ooops...she was born 1h 45 min after that first "light" contraction!!! We live 40 min from hospital.

I'm scared for the next one! If the risks wernt so high I would just stay in bed and do it myself!

My first was 6 hours, my second was 1 1/2 hours and my third was just shy of 3 hours. I live about an hour from town and managed to make it in time for all three. I don't think that you can predict what your labor will be like, just be prepared to leave home as soon as you start labor. As to your second question, I have no idea. Good luck and happy delivery!

my first was 3 1/2 hours, second was 1 1/2 hours... make sure you get on your way to the hospital as soon as you can. idk about paying for delivery, free healthcare in canada.

My first I knew I was in labour but had no idea it was imminent until I got to hospital to find I was 10cm dialated, I then had an hours push time. My second I was in labour around 6 hours pushing for 15-20 minutes, both of these labours my water didn't break until they were crowning. My third my water broke at 6a.m but contractions didn't start until 2pm 4 hours later he was born with 30 minutes of pushing. You really can't predict how they are going to go, every labour is different. I also think we all worry about making it to the hospital in time.
As for the doctor question sorry no idea I live in Scotland, we don't pay for it.
