My daughter's father left when she was only 1 moth old. Now she is 3 years old and asks from time to time where her father is. What can I tell her?

I wasn't just talking about child support, that's a separate issue to custody and visitation.
If you don't have court orders stating you have full custody there's nothing stopping him from turning up and taking her.
Just because he isn't paying child support doesn't change that fact!

My daughter's father is in the same town with us but he is apparently living with another woman. I have been to court for child support ( maintenance) but was told that since he is not working he can't pay maintenance for my daughter.

You can just tell her that you don't know where he is. She doesn't need a detailed response.
I'm gathering you don't know where he is. Have you been to court and sorted out custody, etc? Even if he isn't around at the moment, he can show up anytime so it's wise to have the proper papers in place.
