My husband is the only boy out of 5. He has 3 older sisters, then him then a younger sister. Does that mean I will only have girls.

Oh, for goodness sake, this is ridiculous. It has nothing to do with genetics. My father came from a family of all boys, my mother from one of 3 girls, and they ended up with four boys and a girl. So I came from a family of mostly boys and I had one of each. One brother had two girls and a boy, another had two boys and a girl. It has nothing to do with anything. You get what you get.

In my family we are all girls(3),my husband has a sister..we had a boy. My dads sister had three boys,my dad had three girls. So i guess its 50/50.. I dont think it depends on what the family had.

50/50, just like Michelle told you in her first response.

The gender is determined by the x/y chromosome in your husband's sperm. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you feel like a gymnast, you can try anne's mythological methods for gender choosing, but in reality, it's a 50/50 chance. You'll either have a girl, or a boy. Nothing can determine that in advance. Medical science is not at that level yet, thank god, because then we'd have all of the male dominated societies thinking its ok to only create male babies.

Pray for a healthy child. Pray for a full term delivery with no complications. Love the gender that you get.

And I wanted 2 sons, and got 2 sons, not paying attention to a damned thing but having great sexual relations and getting off ;-)

You're welcome, Shawnn! My pleasure!

Best of luck, Inouse! Whatever you have, you won't be able to imagine them any other gender, you will love them with all your heart and you wouldn't dream of trading them for the opposite gender. Right now it's all academic, but once you hold them - they are just adored and the gender doesn't matter a whit.
Oh and BTW - I wanted 3 daughters, and I have 3 daughters, paying attention to ph, timing and position. But then I'm an old wife!

Anne H, I'm so sorry, but your wive's tales of 'how to have a girl' vs 'how to have a boy' are hilarious! Considering the fact that gender does not MATTER whether or not you have sex on a certain day, or whether acidic foods are consumed or not, or whether or not you fucked doggy style or missionary.

Gender does not get determined by whether or not the female reaches orgasm, nor by whether or not you've taken a specific cough remedy.

But thanks for the great laugh.

Does any mom or pregnant woman really need snarky, unhelpful replies? Kindness, gentleness - please.

4 things that increase your chances of having a girl. 1. Have sex from the last day of your period (every day) to just 3 or 4 days before you are ovulating. You can do this with an ovulation kit. Studies have shown that girl sperm live much longer than boy sperm. Doing this will allow the girl sperm to stay alive long enough to fertilize the egg without having to compete with the boy sperm who will get there faster. 2. Eat foods that are very acidic. Girl sperm are not harmed by acidic levels and boy sperm usually die off and do better in alkali environments. 3. Use sexual positions that have shallow penetration, such as the missionary, that will leave the boy sperm furthest away from the egg as possible (because they are faster.) 4. It has also been suggested that it is better for the woman to NOT orgasm because it will make the environment more alkali.
Reverse all of this for having a boy.
Time your intercourse to raise the chances of having a boy. Have intercourse 24 hours before ovulation to 12 hours after ovulation. During this time, the slippery cervical mucus helps the Y sperm (which are fast, but weak) reach the egg faster than the X sperm (which are slow, but strong). Utilize sexual positioning to conceive a boy. Shettles advises deep penetration, such as a rear-entry position, which places the sperm closer to the cervix and gives the fast-moving Y sperm a head start to fertilization. ave orgasms during sex to conceive a boy. When women achieve orgasm during sex, their bodies produce a substance that makes the vagina more alkaline, which benefits Y sperm. Shettles claims the orgasmic contractions also help push the sperm into the cervix faster. Avoid acidic foods to conceive a boy. Y sperm prefer a more alkaline environment, and acidic foods may alter the vaginal environment. Eat specific foods to raise the odds of having a boy. For a few weeks before conception, eat red meat, eggs, fish, beans, peas, mushroom, zucchini, sweet corn, raisins, bread and salty foods. These foods may create a more alkaline pH level in the vagina. Some gender selection theorists believe that cough medicine containing guaifenesin thins the cervical mucus, making conditions favorable for Y sperm. Check the ingredients to be sure the cough syrup contains guaifenesin before taking it.

It means that you will have a baby. Gender is determined by the x/y chromosome delivered by your husband during ejaculation.
