Does anyone else's baby have febrile convulsions? My 17 month old just had his second in 5 months. I was told this meant he was likely to have fits with fevers and i should give panadol as soon as I notice a high temp before it spikes quickly and he fits. I don't like giving panadol when they don't need it, I don't thinks it's good to have it often. How do you treat your kid's fever when they are prone to febrile convulsions? Do you just give panadol every time they have a high temp?

When he starts to show signs of fever alternate tylenol and motrin every 3 hours.....it is not giving it unnecessarily if it keeps him from having seizures.

I would give panadol but it may not prevent the seizures, there is a medication called Midazolam that is sometimes recommended for children who have frequent febrile convulsions.
