Feeding solids under 6 months is outdated and potentially harmful advice. No baby under 6 months needs anything in their diet other than breast milk or infant approved formula. After 6 months if baby is showing an interest it is fine to offer a bit of food once a day.

Actually, recommendations are 6 months. Most babies do not have a mature enough digestive system to cope with anything other than breastmilk or formula until 6 months, and many doctors will not recommend feeding until this time. To be honest, your baby should be receiving most of its nutrition from breastmilk and formula too - solids are not providing your baby with the nutrition they need and are just for practice at this age.
