Is it ok to feed my 6month old, cold food straight out of the refrigerator or should i be heating it up first. I've heard that cold food can give them tummy pains, is this right?????

I'd do whatever is appropriate for the food. I eat applesauce cold. I would never eat cold cooked peas. Cold foods can upset their stomachs, but it's more of an issue with formula in newborns and such than at 6 months.

Just feed it whatever temperature you would use if you were eating it. Never heard of cold things giving tummy aches. I think it's more likely that a tummy ache would be caused by a food intolerance, not necessarily the temperature of the food.

It isn't bad but would you be eating cold food out of the fridge especially cooked vegetables. To me it just is kind of nasty. Fruits may not be quite so bad cold.

my boy always seemed to prefer it cooler than warm. If i take something out of the fridge i just give it 10-20 secs in the microwave so its not really cold...more like room temp

I don't understand you young mothers do you eat your food straight out the fridge. This does hurt their stomachs and from what my mother told me back in the day can cause croup

thanks everyone, you've all been a big help!!! I wont worry too much about heating up the fruit now but I will continue to heat up the vegies for my little girl.

I never bothered to heat it much for my kids. But, it really depended on what it was.

Icy might not be so pleasant, but could be really soothing when teething. Really, it's up to you.
