. I slipped down the stairs with Fiona. Was in children hospital all night, then got called back in because they found a small fracture in her skull and small bleeding. It was a horrible horrifying day. The good news is because I impacted most of the fall, the small bleeding was not brain related so no brain injuries. It's just close to the skull. Anyways, her prefect head is really banged up and swollen. And she won't breastfeed because I guess the pressure sideways hurts her head. Anyways, my question is has anybody had something kind of the same that happened to the other three months or younger baby when it comes to their skulls. How long did it take for the swelling to go down and the fracture to heal? Thank you

Gena W is correct, trust your gut. If you think something is wrong, keep pressing and asking until someone listens.
You'd happily be proven wrong then regretfully be correct and not have followed you instincts.

Shame,i know you must feel awful. My son is 3 turning 4 in January was in the childrenshospital last week. He was running and slipped over the vacuumcleaner and fell with his head onto the wall. He got a huge bump,it was bleeding and he was crying..needless to say we were all shocked because that fall looked so bad! About a week later he started putting his hand on his eye and crying cause of pain,he couldnt look into the light and then i called the doctor because i remembered his bump. He said to wait another week and if it doesnt go away he must go to the childrens hospital. I called the next day because i was so worried..so off we went and had neurologists look at him and some other doctors. Thankfully no skull fractur and nothing else, they explaind the pain is from the healing process of the injury. I am glad it was "nothing" but i am also glad we didnt wait a week and got it checked! Rather too soon then sorry! No way i was going to watch my son a for a week holding on his eye and crying..and no explenation why he was doing it.

It does sound awful and you must feel terrible. Babies fall often, and they get skull fractures and they get cranial bleeds. We are lucky that God made them to endure these type of injuries. The fracture will heal, and it will not affect her beautiful head, the bleeding will be absorbed. Unlike adults, babies have more room and more fluid inside their skulls and that allows them to heal from these injuries without needing intervention.
At 3 months her fontanels are not completely closed so even if she had a good sized bleed inside, she'd be alright.
Try giving her some infant tylenol for the pain. Avoid ibuprofen as it is a blood thinner.
If she is lethargic and you can't rouse her, she starts vomiting, has a seizure, or cries a different cry than her normal cry go back to the hospital right away.
If you can't get her to nurse, can you pump and offer a bottle?

Cried for a few hours then he was alright.after that he hit his head a lot of times, but God created them in such a way that they heals faster.and still all the mothers worry bcos they are our little angels.you know we have a great doctor.our Almighty saviour.just pray snd he will do the rest.God bless you dear.

Hi nidi, she seems to be in pain, head wise, probably headaches. But she is smiling here and there, as well with laughing. My concern is her head. I know the neurology team said she will be fine, but a fracture is a fracture! I'm worried her skull will be damage permanently. Or the bleeding will turn into something more serious. I don't know. Maybe I'm just paranoid but to me bleeding from a fracture to my baby's head sounds awful!
