I have a question about fevers. My 16 month old son has been running a mild to moderate fever the last three days; tonight it peaked at 104 f. We've taken him to the doctor today and he concluded that it must be a viral infection and that it'll run its course.
Is this normal?
I know that fevers are not an ailment itself but a sign that the body is fighting infection. In my experience fevers run a couple days and then subside, but it seems like each day my sons temperature rises. Im growing concerned that it may be something more serious.
In your experiences would you seek a second opinion? What is the longest your child has had a consistent fever? Was it serious?
