My husband still struggles adjusting to parenting. Does anyone have any recommendations for daddy 101 classes? He is great with our 4 month baby when she is content and happy but when starts to fuss he gets frustrated easily and lacks patience. I don't think he really comprehends that the baby will feed off his energy so if he's frustrated more likely she will be too. Any ideas, classes or books?

How does he feel about taking a parenting class? If he isn't bringing it up to you, the suggestion could be a real blow to his ego and discourage him even more. If he is interested, some hospitals offer a "Daddy Boot Camp" for new fathers. Otherwise, I just keep encouraging him and soon baby will be more interactive and easier to read.

Yes that's exactly what it is however I do think it would be beneficial for him to take a class as well. We didn't not get the chance to do the labor classes which we were bummed about because I'm sure that was helpful information.

Does he want to take a class? I think this is very common, especially if you are nursing. You have the magic that will calm baby down and he doesn't. I know this made my husband feel a bit lost when ours were really small. Once they were a bit sturdier he was more comfortable caring for them. Offer gentle encouragement, but be wary of telling him what to do. He may feel like if baby cries, he is being judged, or is doing something wrong.
