Will the hospital provide me with a breast pump? Should I just by my own breast pump.

In the US most hospitals will have breast pumps you can rent. They are good ones and can be a great option for getting a good double pump that works well for a cheaper price then buying one. Also check with your insurance company some will cover the purchase of a breast pump if bought at certain locations.

If you are thinking about breastfeeding for a long time ( 6 months/1 yr, etc.) and plan to have more children you may want to look into buying your own as long term wise this might be the cheaper route as you then would not have to rent a pump for multiple children.

Most hospitals will have a lactation consultant that works there that can give you great information on what might be the best way and what options are out there. They are usually really good and can be an excellent resource if you need help with either the pump, pumping, breastfeeding, latching on, milk supply, and any other questions you may have.

I would check with your insurance when I had my kids I had to buy my own but I've heard now that insurance will provide one or cover the costs, I don't know if it's true but it's worth looking into.
