I had to go in with an emergency C-section. And had the baby and she spent seven days in the NICU unit. I called the father and let him know we had a beautiful baby girl. He called me on Mother's Day and wish me happy Mother's Day and told me he'd be up next week. But he never showed up. I've email him numerous times to see when he's going to come up and see her daughter. But all I ever get is I don't know. He hasn't paid a dime on her. Should I keep asking him or should I just let it go. Is she better off not knowing him.

I wouldn't go as far as saying she is better off not knowing him. Every child should know who their parents are, and if possible, have a relationship with them.

My advice would be to file for custody, and include a visitation schedule that you can offer him and leave the door open for him to decide whether he wants that relationship.

With regard to the payments, file for child support.

Exactly what the other ladies said. Go to court and if he decides he doesn't want to see her then fine, but he can still help support her.

If he choose to not parent, that is on him. He cannot choose not to support her, file for child support and offer a visitation plan.

No she is NOT better off not knowing her father. Go to court for paternity, custody, visitation, and support.

I agree with others. Without the details of custody, child support and visitation laid out and signed by a judge, you can not "make" someone pay for things for the child, see the child or do anything else.
