My daughter just turned 1 this month and she's been eating fish since she is 8 months.
However, we have no fish allergies in our family. If you have allergies in your family I would go with what the pediatrician said.
I did a lot of research on foods. What I concluded was to feed my daughter high allergy foods first. NO HONEY though.
It's a personal choice, really you have to research it. My pediatrician is very old and from Europe she believes because we hold off on all the foods that is why children have so many allergies today. She also suggested I feed my baby at 4 months, partly due to her weight. I started at 5 months.
