My daughter is turning 6 months old and son is 7 and the doctor highly recommended them getting the flu vaccine to help them from getting high fevers etc, I have never done this but with the new baby and school age child I'm considering?

I have gotten my son vaccinated every year for the flu and I generally get the vaccine as well. I am pretty sure the first time he got it was around 6 months and as I recall he just had a mild fever, maybe 100, the night he had the vaccine. This is completely normal with most vaccines and shouldn't cause alarm unless the fever gets high. a cold compress on the forehead and injection site tend to take care of that. But my son has never gotten the flu even though both my husband and I got it last year when we didn't get vaccinated ourselves, so to me it is worth the little fever and lost sleep for one night.
