Hi, My 2 year old is incredibly fussy when it comes to eating. I fed her on jars when she was weaning and now it seems she won't eat anything but cereal, bread and butter, pasta with pesto, cucumber, crumpets and sausages!!! Does anybody have any advice on how I can get her to eat different foods? I'm going out of my mind with worry that she wil get sick if she doesn't start accepting other foods. i do give her a vitamin supplement and offer her different foods but she will not eat anything else.

Well, she can only eat what you give her. She won't starve herself. Just keep offering lots of healthy options, and don't give in if she demands something different. Just remember also that toddlers sometimes eat what seems like very very little.. this is okay. Somehow they still manage to grow and thrive.

She is eating a number of healthy foods. As long as she is eating, just give her what she will eat as long as it's not junk food. It should pass eventually.

Her diet doesnt seem bad, just limited. lol. breads/pasta/cereals are great, pesto is great, cucumber is great and sausage is fine as a protein, milk in the cereal as a dairy....she's got everything there but the fruit =] She'll grow out of it and in the mean time, just put it whatever else you want her to try on her plate...something yummy, like strawberries or yogurt or cheese (my daughter loves cheese) and encourage her to take a couple bites and if/when she does, clap and praise her!

She'll eat healthy if you give her healthy food. Don't even buy unhealthy foods so you aren't tempted to give in to her fits. The healthy stuff should continue to be a part of her diet. 2 years old is probably too young to be choosing her own diet.

Try and eat together as a family as this will encourage her to try new things if she sees mum and dad eatting. My son was picky but he seemed to prefer food from my plate. Also let her play with food. let her help you in the preparation of food to gain an interest. make a pizza and let her decorate it. She is more inclined to eat it if she has had some input into making it. It will pass eventually so don't worry to much.

Try to not freak out this is normal.I had a daughter that only ate pbjs and mac n cheese. It will pass.If your conserned that she is not getting enough nutrition add a nutrdrink to her diet. But she eats good stuff pasta with pesto good for her you can give her strawberries w/yougurt,and give small amounts of foods dont be paniced if she dont want it try to get her to at lease try a bite of what your offering her its a hard thing to see our children not want to eat because we r supposed to be the care taker and fix alls but its not you its another one of those lovly things our children do to keep us on our toes.If your really conserned ask your pediatrition.Good luck and breath mommy...LOL
