How do you shop for foods when watching for your loved ones food allergies? Do you really have to read all the ingredients on every box? Has anyone found an easier way?

Yes you do. Especially nut allergies and where they were processed (like in a facility that packages other nuts). Food allergies are a life long commitment of avoidance.

Regardless of whether or not allergies are involved, you should be reading labels and ingredients anyway.

You will always have to read the label! But it does depend on what the allergy is as to where on the product you have to look. Example - with a nut allergy, most labels will contain a statement as to whether it contains nuts or traces of nuts.

It also depends where you live - labelling laws are different in different countries. If you live somewhere where the labelling laws are pretty relaxed, even the label might not help.

Let's face it, though. You should be reading your labels anyway. even if you don't have allergies.
