Food Suggestions

My son is just few weeks shy of 12 months. He is no longer interested in stage 3 baby food. However, table food is still hard for him...he only has 6 teeth and they are the ones directly across the front on the top and bottom of his mouth. I can mash and puree the food all I want he still has a difficult time with it. I am looking for food suggestions.

At that age, I liked applesauce (just peel and cut up the apples into little chunks, then boil them in a little bit of water until they are soft) and butternut squash (wash it, cut it in half, put it facedown on a baking sheet and bake at 375 for 45 minutes, then cut it into squares and sprinkle nutmeg on it).

They held their shape enough that they could be finger food, but were soft enough to just be mashed up by little toothless gums.

Also they are easy, healthy options, and very yummy to a baby.

edited to add: I forgot to say take out the seeds before you bake the squash. :)

Stick your finger in the back of your boys mouth, wait for him to bite you. You will then realize theres no need for molars to eat finger food. Those gums are very strong, just make sure his peices are small enough he dont choke. They learn to eat figure foods by doing.
