My five-month-old son is a breast-fed baby and I supplement with formula how much formula is he supposed to get at five months old I've been giving him 4 ounces is he supposed to have more than that

It is tricky, because you don't know exactly how much he is eating from you, and the sucking for a bottle is so different that he may consume much more in the same amount of time. If you are replacing a whole feed, I'd say 4 oz is reasonable, if you are just topping him off, 2 oz until he seems content. As long as he gains weight at a steady pace you will be on track.

I don't want to give him to much formula Bc he is breastfeeding. So I'll just give him what I think is a safe amount I guess!!! Thanks ladies for replying.
