My 2 month old is breast feed and I'm going back to school in a couple weeks and am trying to get him to take formula. But he screams when I try. Any advice?

Have you thought about pumping and giving him expressed milk?

Often pumped milk can be useful for transitioning to formula too. Start with a bottle of mostly breastmilk and just a little formula, and then gradually increase the percentage of formula in the mix.

You may need to experiment with bottles too. Some breastfed babies are very particular about the nipple they will use. Avent bottles, Dr. Brown's, Mimijumi, Adiri are a few to try. Breastfed babies can also be picky about wanting the formula to be exactly body temperature.

Sometimes breastfed babies won't take a bottle from mom, but they will take a bottle from somebody else. Try having someone else give the bottle.

Be aware too that not all breastfed babies will take bottles. Two of our kids would, but two wouldn't. If you're baby won't take a bottle you can try a sippy cup or you can try reverse cycling.

I tired pumping, I can't seem to get enough put to leave him a good portion while I go to class for several hours.

Have you tried putting your expressed breastmilk in a bottle? It may be that he doesn't like the taste of the formula.
