Frantic Mom -FL cut off date!

My husband and I are moving our family down to FL this spring/summer and we are realizing the cut offs dates for school is different than New Jersey. Also in my research I am realizing that if the private and or catholic schools receive state funding they also adhere to the Sept 1 cut off date. Does anyone know of an private elementary school in florida that does not accept state funding and does allow children born after the Sept 1 cut off.
Please respond i'm getting quite frantic here. We are willing to relocate anywhere in florida if it means are children get into the school at the right age.

Fully agree with Sarah.

If your kids are already in school, then they'll continue in the grade progression that they are currently in. If they are NOT in school, and miss the cut off date, so be it. Hold them out for the year, and send them when they meet requirements.

As a mom of a daughter that I held back for a year by choice and someone that was held back a year before I started kindergarten it is really not something to go crazy over. In today's world everyone wants their kids to grow up so fast. They push them to be reading by time they are 2 yrs old, they want them taking college classes before they graduate. The thing is is that maturity is not something you can hurry along. Instead of a focus solely on academics the focus should be on the whole person. My daughter is now in 8th grade and I have not once regretted holding her back a year. She is a straight A student with a goal of attending Stanford. She is a leader with her friends. She does not follow the crowd or the peer pressure. Instead of being one of the youngest to go off to college she will be more mature and hopefully better prepared to make life decisions at her age.
