friend/neighbor etiquette for hiring my child

Is it wrong for a friend/neighbor to hire my 15 year old for baby sitting and dog walking without ever mentioning it to me? I'm finding out that my child isn't available for certain days and hours (9am-3pm) because I'm trying to schedule things and he is telling me that he's been hired for those days.... I don't know whether to be upset with the friend or my child or both???

He is 15. Why do you have a problem with him having a job? At 15, why are you scheduling things for him? I think you should be quite happy that your son has a job and seems to be committed to it. Yes, he should have told you, but I don't see that you should be upset with your friend. That would be like being upset at your local Walmart if he had taken the initiative to go there to get a job without telling you.
