We have a unique situtation. We work in a mining town. Both me and my common law live at home for two weeks with our two year old daughter. And another two weeks we fly out to a remote camp site away from home. We are home for the importants days, her birthday, halloween, christmas, new years. I took maternity leave and spent my daughters 1st year with her at home. Then, I had to return to work. It was emotionally draining at first to leave my daughter for two weeks at a time with caregivers. I finally got used to it. Now my daughter is a toddler. And she's really smart and sweet. But with an attitude! Recently I called her from work, and she was crying into the phone, mommy....I told her dont cry my girl. Mommy & Daddy will be home soon. I am worried will this time away from her affect her negatively as she grows older? Or will she get used to it?
