Food for fun until age one. After 6 months you can introduce solids for experimentation and learning. When it comes to nutrition, your baby only needs breastmilk or formula. I'd skip the whole baby food scene and just start offering well shopped or pureed table foods. Cooked veggies, soft fruit or pasta chopped up into bits is good start. If your baby gags, or has a hard time, them puree the food and give it off a spoon. Baby food, IMO is overrated. So you have two months to research and learn how to make your own foods.

Your baby really needs to just be on breast milk or formula for at least 6 months.
