Getting rid of old drug friends before my son comes home from rehab

My 18-year-old son is entering a 90day rehab and I'm getting how important it is to have him go to a sober living facility, my concern is his old drug friends finding out where he is as he will be only about 30 miles away. I am hoping he grabs hold of some new sober friends, but one of his friends he has here is very unstable and relentless in his need to hang onto his friendship with my son-not that my son is stable right now. I know ii will have to let go of my son and let him handle this, but this one "friend" is scary. With him being gone for 90 days, have any of you suggestions on how to keep our sons location private?

What I would do is not tell anyone anything. When his friends come looking for him say that he moved in with a family member in another state or in another country. When family looks for him say he's on a date or with friends. Keeping his location private is all that matters. If any family member or good friends get hurt because you lied just say it was a surprise. That he worked really hard to stay sober and you wanted to surprise everyone by his hard work. Actually, if your son allows it after his treatment is completed plan a dinner party to really surprise people close to you.
