Getting rid of the pacifier?

My nephew had that problem, too. He kept losing the soother and screaming. First my s-i-l tried scattering a bunch of them in his crib in hopes that he would grope around, find one, and put it back in. But when that didn't work, she and her husband took a weekend, tossed the soothers, and took turns rocking him, etc, whatever helped him sleep without it.

Let him have it. My son had his until he was a little older than 3. It never messed up his teeth, and gave him comfort. I know some people are very against binkies, but really it is about them and their needs. He will give it up when he is ready. IMO it is to early if he depends on it.
