Going from lactose free straight onto cows milk!

Hi I have a 15 month old whos been on neocate (lactose free formula) since she was 8 weeks old due to severe colic and reflux, now she is over a year our GPs have been telling me they will no longer provide her formula and i must introduce cows milk into her diet. Since doing this my daughter has been beside herself in pain and crying hysterically all night long. Should i be weaning the dairy in slowly to let her tummy adjust to the change or should i avoid it all together and opt fpr soya or rice milk etc?. Please give any tips you can provide as seeing my baby arching her back soaking in sweat every day due to the pain is too much!!!

Trust your gut instinct. In most cases doctors are right but not all the time. If you're not happy with your advice and wish to do things different than do so. No one know your daughter better than you and you're with her all the time doctor isn't. If she has been doing fine on the lactose free formula and you're happy to keep giving to her and she's happy and healthy then do what works for you. If they will not provide it for her you may have to look elsewhere. Hope this helps. In the mean time just got to do what you can to comfort her poor bubba.
