My MIL looks after my son (nearly 3) for 6 hours on a Friday. I've never been 100% sure about it but it really helps finances.
Over the last few weeks it has become apparent that he is watching several hours of telly whilst at her house, and today I arrived to pick him up and he was drinking sugary coffee, when I questioned her she said it only had half a teaspoon of coffee in it!!
He's bounced of the walls all afternoon, surely it's common sense not to give a toddler coffee. I'm thinking about putting him in nursery on Fridays so she doesn't look after him anymore. Am I over reacting??

Have you discussed your concerns with her? If so, and she's still giving inappropriate substances or too much telly time, then IMO, you would not be overreacting to remove him.

BUT, if you have not discussed your concerns with her, and you move him prior to or without doing so, then, yes you're overreacting.

I'd try to visit with her about your concerns first, and address the subject with your husband as well. If things don't improve, then you've tried, and moving him would be best.
