I am a full time single mom, my sons father & i are together & we live together. BUT....my sons fathers FAMILY are really controling & they dont like me. They always bash me, & talk about me, i only ask them to respect my wishes about my son as: Telling me if they go anywhere when he is in there care, or bringing him home at the time i asked for him to be home. & they continue to break my wishes so i kept them from getting my son for a few weeks. They threatened me with Children Services & etc. I need to know does my sons Grandparents have any LEGAL Rights to my son?? & If Not would i be able to get a written document to tell them they dont.

What I meant was by Law i am a single mother bc I am not married, that's what I meant. & thank you, his grandparent are very controling. I feel like they think that I have no say so when it comes to my son, & my boyfriend feels stuck in the middle bc he doesn't want us arguing. But his mom & grandma are racist so they don't like white people. Its a crazy & long story.

How are you a full time single mom but living with the kids father? Grandparents rights is a tricky subject mostly it depends on where you live and what the law states there. But even if they could get visitation they would still have limits such as telling you where they are going and having times to be back and other specific guidelines. Let them threaten. Tell them very nicely if they can't respect your wishes when it comes to your children then they are not good for your family to be around as it teaches your children that it is okay to disrespect and not listen to you.
