I have written for help concerning my grandson William a couple times..but this problem is bad. He will not sleepHe would have a nap for 3 hours but never went to bed before 11 but went well. The last 2 weeks he will not sleep at all...2 days ago he actually woke up at 1am and would not go back to sleep till 10am..its been like that since..if you try to put him in bed he gets violent! Now i just found out my daughter drank with him till she was 5 months pregnant..could that have something to do with it? Am i raising a future serail killer?? criminal?? Hes getting a bit scary. Thanks for any input you may have..and please be honest dont spare my feelings..i want to help him!

Oh, my, Michelle!

Ok, just to set your mind at ease, you probably aren't raising the next Jeffry Dahlmer, but it is a concern that the boy won't sleep!

I would make sure that the doctor is filled in as far as the drinking during pregnancy, because, as September says, it is a health concern.

The not sleeping could be a variety of things, though...Has his situation changed drastically lately? Has something upset his normal routine? Insomnia in a little one is odd, but not totally unheard of. I think I read a couple of your other posts, but don't recall his age...if I remember, tho, it was pretty young?

I would make sure that the doctor is up to speed with the whole situation.

I’m sorry to hear this. There is certainly nothing wrong with talking to his pediatrician about this problem you’re having. He or she may have better information for you than anyone online might have. Does he sleep a lot during the day? When he wakes up do you try lying with him until he falls back to sleep? Have you tired finding something that brings comfort to him such as some soft music, rocking him (not sure how old he is) singing to him, telling him a few stories, massage to help him relax? Just because your daughter drank with him until she was 5 months pregnant does not mean he’s going to grow up to be a serial killer or criminal however it could defiantly play a role as far as his health goes. My best advice would be to talk to his pediatrician about the sleep problems. Good luck!
