My daughter is almost 3 weeks old, she has been extremely fussy no matter what I do, I was going to give her gripe water but I didn't know if I should contact her doctor first?

Just because it's packaged in cute packaging doesn't mean it's safe for baby, and from what I've read, it can contain all sorts of things that ARE NOT recommended for baby, such as alcohol (From the very same wiki page that Michelle Slifker posted.

You should always contact the physician before giving ANYTHING that is not in the normal scope of the child's diet.

I would first ask a doctor if you may give it to your baby, she is so young. Also about the dossage etc.

You should really check with a doctor first. Not everything is safe for a baby.

I put a tiny bit in my baby's cheek when really fussy with her hiccups and she comes straight down. She is 4 weeks.

You should contact the doctor for this first before giving a child something you do not know much about and have only read about.

Gripe water is amazing!!! My grandparent are from Scottland and swear by it. I am 27 and they used it on me as a child. I now have a 4 year old and used it when she was younger. It is very good for upset stomach, gas, and will take hiccups away in 5 min. I would def. suggest using it. I hope this helps. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gripe_water this is the link to Wikipedia helping explain it as well.
