Hello moms!
I am 15 months postpartum. I had a c-section. I started lossing hair right after, but few months later there were many new little hair and the hair loss stopped. This summer it started again. My scalp is also burning and it hurts. Im loosing little hair too. I have been to the doctor, my blood is ok, hormone levels ok, thyroid level ok, my theeth are fine... i had a scalp biopsy done last week and i am still waiting for the results. Im so scared it is alopecia and that im gonna lose all my hair :( im eating all the vitamines... If someone has an advice, please let me know. Do you think getting pregnanat again would help? I always had great, thick, beautiful hair...and now this :( Help!!

Desertmommy,
thanks for your tips and help. For the last few weeks I have changed the food I eat. I am on a gluten free diet, I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, drink much more and I think there is a bit of improvement in burning; but my scalp is still sensitive in a way. WHat kind of a massage is this? How long did your problems last?
I also went to an endocrinologist and he checked my hormone levels...everything came back ok; so is it possible that my hormones aren't in order?
About dying my hair...I haven't dyed my hair for about 4 months now...i am really not doing anything to my hair except washing them twice a week.

a lot of questions... :) yes, it is frustrating and all the stress doesn't help.

Thanks girls! you are awesome to help!

A similar thing happened to me... A family member thought it was female pattern baldness..lol! I had patches that fell out where men usually do.. around the temples and my hair thinned out big time, with itching and burning. It was very frustrating. The bottom line was my hormones were still adjusting after having my daughter.. which was a vaginal delivery. Ughhh. My hair issues were worse this time around and i had a c-sec with my 1st baby. So this would make me think that having another baby would only make it worse. Anyways, for me I quit dying my hair (for about 4 weeks) and changed my diet to include high omegas, mineral rich foods and cut out meat that usually has hormone injected. It really helped and the itching and burning stopped almost immediately. I believe in supplements but sometimes the right foods is the way to go. Another thing is I had a uterine massage that helped recenter my uterus. It was an amazing experience and I know it did something to help my situation. The therapist that helped me said it would have a positive effect on my hormones. Within a couple weeks my hair stopped falling out and then I had baby fine hair all over my head. It was especially obvious where i had the patches missing! I don't know if this helps at all, being that it's my own personal experience but good luck!! I hope you figure it out... it's a creepy thing losing your beautiful hair..

Hello Ashleigh.

I went to 3 different dermatologists. One said I have telogen efluvium, another one said it might be androgenetic alopecia... they don't know for sure. Im losing hair all over my head, not in circles or anything and I can't say it is the worst on the top, it is all over. What do you think a derm could do to "save" me? Im waiting for the results of scalp biopsy now... i truly hope it is not alopecia! Someone going throuh the same??

It definitely sounds like alopecia. You need to see a dermatologist immediately to counteract any effects of hair lost. My husband went through a stressful time in his life and experienced hair loss but got the help needed to help his hair grow back and has had no issues of recurrence for several years now.
