It is normal for hair to fall out after pregnancy. However, if you find more than you think is normal try adding more Omega-3 and 6 fats to your diet or as supplements. Oily fish, avacado, nuts are all good sources. Sometimes it is a sign of a deficiency in these good fats. Good luck!

it's a drop in your hormones that do it to you I had the same thing happen an freeked and asked my doctor thats when I found out that it was just a change in my hormones.

The same thing happened to me too. When my daughter was about 4 months, more hair fell out that I ever thought I would lose. It went from very thick, to very thin and I developed bald patches in the front hairline. The good news is that after a few months, it settled out and now that my baby is just about to turn one, my hair is getting back to normal. Of course, I am pregnant again so maybe that is why my hair is getting better??

that's exactly what's happening to me. glad to know that i'm not alone. ha ha..

hey..pregnant again? now? congrats! :)

Yes, hair does fall out after pregnancy to make up for not shedding it during pregnancy. When you are not pregnant, it sheds all the time, but you hardly notice it as it is gradual. My hair is falling out (my youngest son is 6 months old now), but not FAST enough! I have extremely thick hair anyway, and when I am pregnant, it turns into a huge unhandleable mop! It still looks like a fuzzy mop and I hate it! I think it took about a year after having my first son for it to look normal again! lol x

I thought I was the only one that had this problem too...My hair is like steady falling out...I pull clumps and find it everywhere....My son is gonna be 3 in March and I'm still having this problem...It's not as bad as it used to be I'll give it that but it is very annoying when you find your hair literally everywhere...I have very long hair and to find it in my son's diaper or in the car, on the floor, and its especially annoying in the shower. Hopefully it will eventually catch up if that's what it's doing

If you are talking about YOUR hair falling out, mine did too. During pregnancy we have hormones that for some ODD reason, stop our hair from falling out. After birth, those hormones fade back into the background, and the hair tries to 'catch up'. All that you didnt lose during pregnancy, falls out now. I'm finding HUGE clumps in the sink, in the tub, in my brush, in my bed, in the diapers... the lasagna... its EVERYWHERE!!!!!

mine too! sometimes i feel like i'm under chemotherapy or something..duhhh!! thanks anyway.. :)
