Halloween snack

Hello ladies,

I have volunteered to provide the snack for my sons pre-k Halloween party. I was snooping through some of my cook books and came across a recipe for "Monster Cake Balls". I have never made cake balls before, so I am concerned that they may not be toddler appropriate. I am also worried about them being difficult to make. I do not want to invest a lot of time on something that will fall apart before being able to be enjoyed.

Does anyone have any suggestions or concerns/tips when making this treat. Also, do you find them difficult to stay on the sticks, and would consider them Toddler approved.

I was thinking cake balls as an option, because they would be perfect portion control, unlike a cake, or cupcake...and less mess for clean-up.

we make cake balls all the time.... we are a gluten free, dairy free family so i actually make cake balls out of cinnamon roll dough because that's the best gf/df cake-like recipe i have come up with. they are quite delicious. the cinnamon roll dough is thicker and forms a ball really easily. or we've used it to make all sorts of shapes.... we had a great time with it at our SF Giants party for my kids this past summer. i make a cream cheese icing and sweeten it with bananas instead of sugar. use food coloring and you can do orange cake balls and black icing. or you can do little ghost cookies or something. anyways, cake balls are great for kids.
