First, I am a man and haven't been working bc of bicep surgery. 2nd, I'm wanting some opinions about a situation. My gf n I live in an aprt complex n we live on the top floor. We recently had a couple w a kid move in below us and after a week I believe, hard to remember after all the complaining, they thumped their ceiling which is out floor bc I was exercising at 2pm (jumping jacks). Then on a Sunday evening around 830pm we were watching the transformer movie and we get a knock on our door. It was the emergency maintainence man telling us he got a call about a noise complaints. it was 830pm!! Then I was exercising at 6 pm and we got a knock on the door from the guy down below asking us to not work out in the room above him bc he was trying to sleep bc he had to work thirds that night and my gf asked him well do u work thirds all the time n he said its whenever they call him. I've even tried working out at 3 pm and still got a knock on the door from him. even at 4 pm I've gotten floor thumps bc my lunges were too loud. I can't workout from 1pm to 7 pm w/o worrying about what my happen and I hate that. My gf just bought the breville boss blender and I have been blending up some great smoothies and tonight at 830 pm, my gf gets a text from the guys wife downstairs (this girls friend suggested that my gf have her number) saying hey, her son is sleeping and she gave us a schedule of when her kid goes to sleep. she also gave us a schedule of her husband's so I would know when I can and shouldn't workout in the room above where he sleeps. They said I could workout between 2-8 pm and I have been doing so bc my gf asked me to compromise and do my jumping jacks and lunges in the living room so he could sleep. I feel that I tip toe around the aprt and I don't feel like I'm getting the best workouts bc I'm more worried about getting thumps, knocks on door, or even a complaint filed on us. Where I used to live, the aprt complex had in their lease info about quiet hours and it was from 10pm to 7 am. I feel that I am not violating any noise issue except an hour a day for the P90x routine. I feel that I have the right to do what I like between 7am to 10pm. Heck, even I complain too much about stuff, ask my gf, but even I know I'm living in an aprt complex and there's bound to be noise and I don't complain unless it's after 10 pm. Even I expect myself to be quiet by 10 pm for the respect of others trying to sleep. But come on, really, complaining bc of any noise before 10 pm let alone 8 pm is quite ridiculous. FYI, we've heard their kid cry, stomp, and get loud and we don't complain and we sleep in the room above the child. I told my gf that our lives don't revolve around their schedule and we have to live our lives too.We can't move out until may. Any thoughts? PS, the blender is magnificent!!!

"emergency maintainence man telling us he got a call about a noise complaints" This is a notification from a building official.

That being said, I've always found the muscle bound boys think that they should be able to do what they want, when they want, and to hell with everyone else. If the neighbors are disturbing your workout routine, take it to the appropriate venue, a gym

Go to a friggin gym. If the building officials are notifying you of complaints, then most likely you're violating a building policy.

An apartment is not an appropriate place for bodybuilding workouts.

Those are pretty disturbing exercises. Perhaps you can talk to your landlord about moving to a ground floor apartment? They might be more lenient on you regarding breaking leases etc.

That was one time and it was because we were watching a movie at 830 pm not working out.

The building officials are not notifying of any complaints. Actually, there is no noise ordinance policy stated by the apartment complex online nor in their renter's policy that we signed.
