Has any mom been successful at conception with irregular periods?

I have been experiencing irregular periods for 3 months now and I would like to start working on baby #2. I will be 28 in 2 months so my doctor is kind of pressuring me to conceive before my chances at pregnancy are slimmer. Any stories or advice one could share would be very helpful :0)

Thanks so much Dennika, I am glad to know that there is hope for me :0) my son is currently suffering from "the only child syndrome" so at his age now, an addition wouldn't be so bad. He's becoming much more independent and eager to help now so I am ready for #2. I will keep trying *fingers crossed*

O wow Anne! Congrats to you! I pray that some day I could have as many blessings as you :0) Actually I do chart with an app on my phone and my doctor has also provided me with a chart. Often times my boyfriend and I to stay consistent with the BD but we've had no luck yet.

I was on birth control pills until October of 2007. I had been on them since my very first period (2001) and after I stopped taking them, my cycle went really wonky.I would go about 3-4 months with no period at all, and then a normal one (not super heavy or anything like that).
I conceived, naturally, at 18 years old, in July of 2008 and had my baby boy in March 2009.
I breastfed for the first year after that (exclusively for 6 months, part time for the rest) and had, I believe, only one or two periods during that entire year. I conceived my second child when my first was roughly 13 months old (there's 22 months between them)

And now I'm pregnant with my third child. I conceived in October of 2012 and had only had anything resembling a *regular* cycle since June/July of 2012 (before that, I had had roughly 3 periods in the past year and a half). But, they were still out of whack, more of a 45 day cycle instead of a normal 28-30 day cycle.

So, I've conceived all 3 of my children, naturally, while having irregular cycles :) There's most definitely hope for you :)

Well I am 42 and pregnant with my 8th baby. My cycles have been irregular since baby no. 6 who is now 6! So it can happen! Are you charting your cycles? Learning natural family planning can help you to conceive, because you will know when you are fertile. Enjoy trying! ;))
