My daughter is six and has mild C.P/spacity, the doctor wants to do botox on both her legs, before putting the pump in her spine. i'm wonder if anyone has ever had it done before and what was the out come of it all...please please please i need some mom support and feed back.

My little girl is active, she walks, tries to jump, climbs on the bed, she's in general Ed,but her feet turn inward and if it keeps turning it will dislocate from her hip.

WAIT... What are her symptoms. Sounds a bit like Dystonia to me Does it happen all the time or does she have 'twitchy' moments. Dystonia is wildly misdiagnosed. Check out www.wemove.org is a great website. There is a support group on Facebook too. https://www.facebook.com/groups/paroxysmaldyskinesia/

ahhh cool ok thanks :). My understanding is that the pump can be very effective and I believe - although am open to correction- that it requires less than the botox to be effective and is very effective. they do the botox first to see if it will work and then follow up with the pump.

My advice would be to give the botox a try.I think you will be surprised.

Nothing actually :/ I admit that. It just seems so much more invasive than the botox.

Katherine, have you heard of harmful effects of the pump? I haven't but have only worked with a couple of people (adults ) who have had it placed because of increased spacticity. When it works it does wonders, but I am curious as to what you have heard/seen?

I would do it. It's a better option than the spinal pump IMO. I don't have experience, but from what you are saying they botox seems a lot less harmful.
