Has anyone else had a similar experience?

This will be my first baby and I have not had any prior miscarriages or other difficulties. I went in for my first ultrasound 2 days ago and while I had thought I was 10 weeks along because I haven't menstruated since early October, the ultrasound showed only a gestational sac and estimated I'm only 6.5 weeks along. I have not had any bleeding, cramping or other 'bad' signs. I'm most confused and I'm going in for another ultrasound on the 26th.

Oh Katherine, I really don't know much about the medical side of everything and you would think I would after 6 miscarriages 1 baby to 33 weeks (daughter now 3) and one baby to 26 weeks (son died 3 days after he was born). I am 45 and very book smart but dumb as an ox when it comes to this; all I can say is trust your doctors, and if you aren't feeling 100% about what they tell you seek a second opinion ASAP trust yourself, trust your body, that is how I got my beautiful baby girl here I finally found I doctor who would listen to me. Trust in you, in your body, every person is different, every pregnancy is different, I don't know where you live what your options are but explore them and go with what you feel is best. Sometimes we make mistakes maybe you just missed a cycle out of stress? If you aren't cramping or bleeding take that as a great sign. Did they get a heart beat? I know it is sometimes to early for that but sometimes they can pick one up on an ultrasound. Just remember you are not alone. There are tons of us who have been right where you are at.

I haven't been any more stressed than I usually am and the two pregnancy tests I took about 4 weeks ago were positive. There wasn't a heartbeat that I or the tech could hear. Just the gestational sac. I'll hopefully know more next week because I'm getting another ultrasound to see if anything's changed.
