Has anyone had good or bad experiences with the drug Intuniv for treating kids with attention disorders?

My son, who is mildly autistic and has ADD, does not do well with stimulant drugs. As such, the doctor asked us to try Intuniv without any additional stimulant drugs. Has anyone found this drug to be helpful without taking an additional stimulant drug?

My son is on Intuniv currently. He has been on it for 6 months I will say. Before that he was on concerta and adderall, both stoped working after awhile. Intuniv makes him sleepy, so after school he usually takes a nap, which quite frankly I do not mind because its a nice break from his hyperness. And its not a "drugged up sleepy" either. Which I would have a problem with and take him off it was like that. However it gives him a serious attitude and he seems to be in a horrible, nasty mood on it. So I guess Im still up in the air if its a good fit for us. It also took over a month to work, which was not a good time for us at home and at school. Hopefully you will have a good experience with it and good luck.
