Has anyone had issues feeding?

I am really looking for some reassurance or advice that this too will pass since the doctors do not know what to do (including GI). My son (born @ 34 1/2 week and weighed only 2 lbs. 10 oz.) has been struggling for quite some time with eating. The doctor suspected reflux since he was projectile vomiting his bottles and developed an association (she thinks) with the reflux and the bottle since he cried all the time while eating. He is now on prevacid 2/x day AND zantac 1x/day. He has not vomited since but still fights the bottle and fusses/cries alot. It is really sad. I don't know if in part he gets frustrated because he tries to grab the bottle and bring it to his mouth but as soon as it gets in his mouth he swats/pushes it away aggressively. (he is behind in his motor skills - doesn't have much control). He now weighs 14 lbs. 4 oz. and is still on an every 3 hour feeding schedule (except at night - sleeps thru the night) but is only on average consuming between 620ml and 700ml. Has anyone gone through these issues? We have literally tried everything and to make matters more interesting our pediatrician told us to start rice cereal - which he absolutely hates.

BOTH my kids were born at 35 weeks and had to take prevacid, and it was later advised to me to have them drink Similac Alimentum ( to address a protein allergy). It's expensive (30 bucks a can) but you can find them sealed, unexpired on Ebay for 15 bucks a can (16 ounces). in bulk. Ask your DR about this.

Thanks for your response Emma - I guess I just need to be patient and hopefully soon he will grow out of it ;-)

Both my kids did this. With my new baby I just let her have her 50mL and don't push the issue. It really didn't let up until Logan was 10 months and I gave him a sippy cup, then he started just drinking his milk. Before that it was a struggle to get him to have any bottles and the unsettledness and reflux didn't stop when I started solids either.
