My twins were born a boy and girl. The boy was 8.9lbs and the girl was 4.4lbs.

They are now 17 yrs old and the smallest of the twins is now 3 times the size of her brother who was born the largest.

I'm desperate to find anyone who has had similar experiences.

Thank You

Tracey

I don't have twins myself but what you describe sounds like twin to twin transfusion, a case where one twin in uetero (sp) takes the amniotic fluid and other vital nutrients from the other. Later in life it still usually amounts to one twin being larger than the other.

Thanks for your comments. I believe that this was not a case of TTS the had 2 amniotic sacs but just one placenta which is unusual for fraternal twins.

Sophie is now 25stone at the age of 17 and her brother who was born the largest is a normal 9 stone.

Sophie has lost 3 stone since having a gastric band fitted in October.

I'm at my wits end and would love to hear of anyone else with similar problems.

Thanks to you all
