My 10 month old son fell off bed and has a greenstick frature in arm. This happened on Sunday and is Thursday and still hurts him alot periodically. Is this normal. We got xray and then just a tensor is supposed to be kept over it for a week. He off course wont crawl with that arm but does move it and use it (just not with too much weight). And then off course he will bang it and fall and hit it once in a while as he is really active. Will it heal if he is doin this or should I take him to doc again and try a splint or something stronger. I have been reading that should be stabilized for up to 3 weeks (the fracture is halfway through his bone basically). So just curious if any other mom's have dealt with this - thanks!

At his age I'd definitely get it checked out again. My daughter had one at 4 or 5 years and nothing was ever done for it. She was just told to lay off the monkey bars for a few weeks. ;) It healed fine.

Greenstick fractures should be immobilised for 6 weeks. A splint or support should of been put on to help support the bone whilst it heals and because your baby is so young the cast should be checked regularly to make sure it is not to tight. This is how it would be treated in the UK other countries have different treatments but it should be supported. Hope this helps.
