My 13 year old has had epilepsy since he was 7. He has tried almost every drug available to control his seizures and has a VNS. He has been in the hospital for 2 weeks now and is undergoing a partial corpus collostomy on Tuesday. He has gran mals seizures, drop seizures, myoclonic seizures, absence and partial seziures. Sometimes he will have a couple seizures a day and other days he has over a 100. He is not stable enough for us to bring him home at this time because the seizures wont always stop with the emergency medication such as diastat or ativan. I could really use some positive stories or experiences with this procedure.
